I just wanted to thank you for opening my eyes to the amazing opportunities of NOT using the big rental car companies. This was our fifth visit to Maui and traditionally I’ve used a major car company but was becoming increasingly frustrated with their lack of client service, increasing prices and poor quality of vehicles. Then you came along and showed me that good old fashion courtesy and client service still exists. From the time I enquired to the day I handed back the vehicle, the service has been amazing.
You have a lifelong client with me now. Keep up the great work and easy going friendly spirit – it’s so much what I love about Maui.

We have just come back from Maui and we had to write to tell you about a fabulous little car rental company called Hawaiian Rent A Car. This was our first time to Maui so other than the usual big rent a car companies did not know where to go and from comments on the web did not fancy hanging around for ages while we waited for our car after a long flight from Australia. Thank goodness for Google and reviews on this topic. The reviews led us to Hawaiian Rent A Car which had only glowing reports of outstanding customer service and let me tell you they were not wrong. From the time we contacted them and communicated via email to collecting the car at the airport then handing it back, the entire transaction has been an absolute breeze. Their concierge met us at the baggage area when we arrived and walked us to our car. He was kind enough to give us an upgrade as one of the larger cars were available. He gave us a number of tips of spots to visit, lent us a great tour book, had a local map and some fresh local fruit. YEAY. He was very personal and professional to deal with, his communication was spot on and nothing was a hassle. Handing the car back was just as effortless -meeting us at the airport to collect the car and hand us a parting gift. "I let Hawaiian know my flight number and arrival time and he was waiting at baggage claim with the keys to my beautiful rental car. He even carried my bags to the car, and made sure I knew the way to my hotel. He even checked in on us a few days into our vacation to make sure everything was going well. Now that is good service. "

"The team at Hawaiian Rent-a-Car were AMAZING. THEY picked us up from the airport just after we got our luggage and gave great tips on things to do. It's only a 5 minute drive to their office and we happily chatted with Ivan the whole way. We dropped off the car in the same place and he took us to the airport after. We got a Prius (which no other rental car companies use) and drove 414 miles on 8.5 gallons during the week we were in Maui. Also, since only locals drive Prius cars on the island, you don't look like a tourist (AKA target for scavenging theifs!). I did a LOT of research about car rental prices and these guys are the absolute cheapest by far. They were also so easy and awesome to work with. I would definitely recommend them to anyone- they are a small business with excellent customer service and I was so much happier to support them over some big company."

"I didn't know a rental company was capabale of providing such service. Renting local really does make a difference. The Enterprise guy would never take the time to take out a map and circle all of the places where locals hang out or wish me a safe flight on my way out. We had two kids and I was really worried that we would have trouble finding car seats. This seemed like no problem at all. The car seats were installed and waiting for us just as we had requested. Excellent service and the cheapest prices on the Island."
